Midwest changes were not positive.

Pros

Great processes! The company had developed good procedures and my training was excellent. I loved working for covenant care but not with the changes of regional director and vp of the Midwest.

Cons

Complete lack of support when needed and terrible micromanagement when not needed. Terrible balance. The conference calls and travel was ridiculous. When assistance was requested, no one was available to answer a call.

Pros

I was able to earn a decent salary and earn good quarterly bonuses based on performance.

Cons

My job was very much misrepresented to me. HR Leadership is very controlling, inflexible and unfair. I would not recommend this company until they straighten out their leadership issues. Also, in giving three weeks notice, the company denied me the bonus I had earned and severed our employment 2 days later. Not a very classy way to 'separate' - extremely unprofessional behavior on behalf of HR leadership

Pros

Great coworkers, 8 hour shifts. If you adore the geriatric population you'll enjoy it. CNA to patient ratio on a good day was 1:8. Pay is descent. Some very good nurses and LPNs that were willing to help the CNA. Overall not a bad experience. Just get your job done, treat everyone with respect and it'll be smooth sailing. you'll even have some down time on a quiet day. There was never disciplinary action for calling off. Some people would "no call no show" and still have their job. Lots of lovely activities for the patients. Scheduler does try and accommodate to your schedule. Good place to work if working and going to school.

Cons

Usually short staffed. If you're a newbie you'll be the first to be bumped off your "permanent" run. 200 hall is long term and patient workload is heavier, yet you'll have more patients there than in other halls. Morning shifts are very busy, never felt like there was enough time. If there are good coworkers, then guess what there are bad ones too!
