Pros
Guaranteed to make friends and work with others your age. This is more of a teen job. It’s one of those jobs we’re, the more you put yourself out there, the better it’ll get for you. Or it could get worse just depends on who you hang around and your personality.
Cons
The heat is tuff in July. Guards pass out on stand from messed up rotations, not drinking enough water, or wearing hoodies. Management can get chaotic at times. Regular lifeguard rotations should be every 15min, but at Cowa it can take up to 30mim to an hour. The pay compared to other companies like the City of Henderson, Vegas, or the hotels isn’t the best. There are opportunities to rank up in the company, but it comes down to your performance, if you put yourself out there, and personality. Stand on your own business. Know what you have to do and what you want. Make sure your pay checks match up with your hours. Make sure you speak up about not rotations not working, if you don’t get a break, or if something feels unsafe. Ask for help if you need to.
