Worst job I ever had, by far

Pros

- free couch (up to$2000) after probation - you can work from home and pretty much wherever you want in the world as you please - Leaving, because the CEO has this strange non-written policy where he doesn’t accept anyone’s 2 week notice and you’re paid 2 weeks to do absolutely nothing. It’s disrespectful, unheard of in retail, seems like a big ego move and reeks immaturity but hey, you’re paid to do nothing so that’s a pro I guess?

Cons

- Absolutely toxic work life balance. If you have a social life or a family stay away. Texts, phone calls and Microsoft teams calls on weekends and passed 6 o’clock happened almost every day and every week. - The CEO himself and many senior positions or key leaders are in their mid 20s and have very little work experience outside of Cozey and also very little leadership experience. While they’re smart people, there’s very little great leaders at Cozey and the CEO isn’t one of them. - That lack of leadership is probably why I saw 5 members of a team of 7 left, all for the same reasons and yet, nothing changed. - As mentioned in other reviews online, a lot of family members, friends and childhood friends were hired and it does make you feel like you won’t be heard and nothing will change if you try to say something about one of them’s toxicity. I never felt the business was impartial towards everyone. - There isn’t really an HR department and there isn’t a real way to be heard or processes in place for complaints to go through to favor the well-being of employees. - Make no mistake, this business is about driving growth, revenue and pleasing customers. The employee comes dead last at all costs. - This pressure to drive growth is the most insane pressure, often very unjustified, that I have experienced in my life and I worked for businesses that had a lot of bigger goals. - There is an OKR structure but it’s completely laughable and misaligned with proper HR OKR practices. Which leads to you being assigned really irrelevant objectives and some completely unattainable. - High turnover. Had colleagues leaving almost every 2 weeks or so, which is crazy for a business of roughly 40 employees.

Pros

Work from home, Free sofa

Cons

Communication and leaders without experience. The lack of leadership is one of the reasons so many employees left in a such short time span (people leaving every 2 weeks). They set unrealistic tasks and don't understand employees' workload. They don't pay for overtime. They don't respect your time off and you will receive calls/messages with requests at any time past your work schedule. Don't expect to grow in the company, unless you're part of the "boys club".
