Pros

Fun job, lots of involvement with team. There is always something to keep busy with.

Cons

I don't usually write reviews; however, I was surprised to see so many 5-star reviews for this company that were wolves in sheeps' clothing. The reviews blatantly aimed to put down and discredit unhappy employees and put the founder on an unreasonable pedestal that make the reviews seem fake. While the work environment was not terrible, to see reviews putting down employees who complained about compensation is quite ridiculous. Living in San Francisco is expensive, and for a boss to not see your worth and offer you veiled benefits of fun and potential growth; this may not be worth your time. You make the decision for yourself, but if you see the warning signs, don't make the same mistakes we did.

Pros

Remote work is a pro and unlimited PTO but that was recently taken away.

Cons

I’ve never worked for a company who fired so many people with little regard for the well-being of its staff. The CEO micromanages people, writes fake reviews on Glassdoor, has zero compassion for workers, lays off workers with no severance packages (the day after Christmas), verbally abuses staff, does not handle internal issues, does not respect working hours and provides no company culture other than to pit teams against each other. He hires people for one job and then piles additional jobs and titles on them, often with no financial reward and does not care about the feedback from the employee. He will overwork you until you burn out and quit or he fires you. Stay away.

Pros

Under previous leadership our team thrived and the work environment was amazing. Supportive, kind, and wonderful folks to work with made this an awesome place to work!

Cons

CEO did not handle the pandemic well. Black Lives Matter was only partly addressed and never taken seriously. Wages were cut and chef resources were scarce. Instead of helping chefs, the CEO and other leadership refer to hosts as greedy. Very unprofessional. New leadership was so negative for team morale.
