Pros

Great people, interesting product, good benefits

Cons

Awful leadership, very long hours, watching your colleagues get treated badly, growing sentiment of anti-remote work despite being promised this was a remote position, performative activism for Ukraine but ignoring Belarus where some of our colleagues live, terrible engineering processes despite being hardest working team

Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad you appreciated our benefits, product and team. I’m also saddened to hear about your assessment of leadership and that you witnessed colleagues being treated poorly. We have just hired a new Head of People Operations that will be laser focused on manager training, performance management processes, and creating a strong culture of belonging and psychological safety. So we should now have a solid team for you, and anyone else to bring this feedback to if you’re not comfortable coming to me directly. But I am always available and would be all ears if you’d like to discuss these things further. We are always striving to improve our leadership skills, hold managers accountable and create a safe place for all of our team members around the globe. That said, consistent with our value of “Humility,” we (myself included) are constantly learning and improving (from both successes and setbacks). Thank you again for your feedback. Respectfully, Ilya Levtov (CEO)

Pros

- good starting salary - nice people in the team - optional remote

Cons

A lot of talking about diversity, inclusion, professional development, open discussions, fair treatment and equal ability to participate in product development. In reality: - managerial and tech roles are held primarily by men, content and people ops by women - promotions or any additional responsibilities are unlikely regardless your skills or experience if you have any issues with management of any level - the company struggles to keep it's employees longer then 1-2 years and have set to hire a lot of students for lower pay in place of experienced people that left - many new positions opened with rapid company growth, all of them were filled with people from outside (no promotions). in general, the management is not interested in investing in its own employees - the company rarely takes into consideration any suggestions for product development if there is no immediate profit or new clients from it

Thank you for sharing your feedback - hearing from our employees, even when it’s hard feedback, is the only way we can continue to provide an employee experience in which all of our team members can thrive. Many of the points you mention have been on our mind for a while, and we’ve been actively working to improve them. It sounds like we could do a better job of sharing where things are going well, so here's some additional information that might be helpful: * You're right that we can absolutely do better in terms of gender representation within Engineering, and that is a dedicated focus with the roll-out of our Inclusive Hiring efforts. But we're also proud of the fact that our Product team is 80% women! Our focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is a long-term investment, and we hope to continue to build out our DEI framework as we grow. * The bulk of our hiring (70% of the company!) has occurred in the last 18 months, so it makes sense that our total average tenure is still relatively short. Stick with us - growth like this is exciting and challenging, and we have great things in store. * You're right that we are in rapid growth mode, and have been bringing in incredible new talent to join our team. That doesn't mean that growth isn't possible or is a barrier for current employees, though! In the last 6 months, we’ve promoted nearly 15% of employees who have been with us a year or longer, and we're currently updating our performance management processes and digging into career mapping efforts to ensure we're equally focused on developing our current team members. * Product roadmap for a startup is a challenge, and how that roadmap gets built out and communicated across the company is a big area of focus for our new head of Product, Andra. Further, our Product team recently launched a new system for all employees to submit product ideas, as well as a Product Board to gather feedback on ideas currently under consideration. We encourage you to take advantage of these great options to ensure your ideas are captured! Finally, if you're a current team member and you feel comfortable doing so, we encourage you to reach out to your manager or People Operations to have more of a conversation. We'd love to hear from you.

Pros

- Still some cool people to work with - Okay benefits

Cons

Due to bad management decisions and lack of trust there is environment with not clear goals, long hours, micromanagement and pressure. A lot of people are leaving because of this reasons but unfortunately instead of fixing things they just get substituted with outsourcers. - Only external outsources are hired from completely different timezone - Colleagues are not treated well treated - Pressure - Long hours - No decent product people, it looks like micromanagers are hired to do product job

Thank you for your feedback. I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve had some negative experiences at Craft. I would love to talk about this directly, and really value hearing feedback from the team, no matter how negative. We’ve also just brought on a new Head of People Ops so the People Team is a safe place to go with feedback if you don’t feel comfortable talking with me directly. We are always striving to improve our culture and create a welcoming and psychologically safe environment for everyone to do their best work. That said, consistent with our value of “Humility,” we (myself included) are constantly learning and improving (from both successes and setbacks). Thank you again for your feedback.
