Pros

The company offers an opportunity to work with a good workers compensation claims handling system. That is all.

Cons

There is no flex time. The hours are 8:00 AM to 5:PM Monday - Friday. What they dont tell you until you are unable to complete your daily work load with in an 8hr period is that it is up to the adjuster to do what they need to do to make sure they are day current. Meaning to say if you need to work 80hrs to get what they believe is a work schedule that can be completed in 40hrs, then you need to work 80hrs. There aren no excuses. They require you to be able to handle a mix case load of Med Only to Loss of time Workers Compensation Claims in excess of 200 (my case load was 250). You can not close cases unless you have gone at least 6months of no activity from the last payment made on the file regardless of the nature of payment. Your computer activity and business calls are monitored closely to ensure excellent customer satisfaction. You are discouraged from interacting with other employees to avoid office gossip for which you can be terminated. You're correspondence is regulated and scruitinized before the company allows you to send out any information. The pay is exceptionally low for Sr. Claims Adjuster experience. Starting salary is $50K. The industry average is $60 or better. The company's rational is that they pay 100% of your medical package which they tell you is valued at $20K, but I have seen personal self insurance packages through the likes of United Health Care and BCBS, that covers more and costs less. They will tell you, you get 2wks of vacation you can use immediately, but what they dont tell you is that you can not begin to use it until you have been employed 90 days. As such, if you have to be out of work within thoes 90 days, its without pay, even if you are salaried. you are only considered for full time employment unless you have worked for them on a contractual basis for a period of not less than 90 days. Hence, you will have been with the company at least 6 months before you can exercise any benefits. Overall the company demands much from its employee's but delivers little in terms of compensation and employment satisfaction. My personal opinion is that working there was much like being held captive in a prision camp. The best day I had working for the company was my last day.

Pros

There are no good reason to work for this company!

Cons

Lets start with the company is ran by the family. Who by the way has a very limited background in the insurance world. The four-eyed short family member is the one pulling all the ropes. She knows nothing about the business, yet she consistently refers to the staff as overpaid clerks. She is so insulting. The tall male one is equally as dumb as the short four-eyed one. This company will drive you to drink.

Pros

100% paid medical.

Cons

This is, by far, the most unpleasant employment I have ever had. I worked here for about a year, and during that time, saw 8 employees come and go, suffice it to say there is very high turnover here. I would attribute this to the extremely unprofessional and toxic environment that exists here. The former reviewer is correct on many points, that still apply. Management is not only verbally abusive, to their own family members, let alone employees, but are also completely uncouth, unprofessional even. They try to discourage employee interaction due to gossip etc. but are the worst perpetrators of this themselves. I was subjected to hearing their damaging and ill-mannered opinions regarding others in the office or former employees without any chance of escape, on a regular basis. It was highly uncomfortable and I found it unbelievably classless. The job itself was unsatisfactorily explained/presented during my interview, which I quickly discovered upon starting there. I was given incomplete and unacceptable instruction and constantly expected to be able to perform without any prior training, not to mention the job duties were unrealistically presented to me during interview as well. I would say I was actually presented with about 65% of the actual job I would end up being expected to do, which also, I should mention, was constantly changing due to management needs and whims, and not just my position, either. There was a constant stream of interoffice memos going out regarding office procedures for all employees, on an almost daily basis. The benefits I cannot say one way or another about, as I never used any of them. The health plan is paid 100%, and you do get vacation after your 90 days. I also believe they offer tuition reimbursement, I was told this during the interview, but again, I felt due to the negative and stressful work environment, the benefits did not outweigh this, and moved onto better opportunities before being able to utilize any.
