Where to begin.....
• Zero pay scale - Do not expect regular evaluations, raises, or any set idea of what you will get paid. Pay even varies between sales people, and not based on tenure or experience.
• Zero ordering schedule - Expect to go through weeks at a time without high demand items with your buyer telling you he doesn't know when things will arrive or giving false hope on shipment dates, leaving you and your cohorts to BS your way through awkward interactions with customers. This includes customers who prepay and wait ridiculous amounts of time (sometimes MONTHS) for product to arrive.
• Zero HR Support - As can be seen through many other reviews inappropriate behavior and commentary are a regular from the highest level admins. Your concerns will be met with ridicule or you simply won't voice your concerns, because the only person to voice them to is the guiltiest party involved.
• Promotions - Your slight pay increase for accepting a Management position (still severely underpaid compared to other managers in Missouri) will be met with mandatory 45+ hour weeks (not surprisingly) but you will ACTUALLY be working 50-60 hours to cover understaffing and poor scheduling.
• Change in Pay - Any change in pay hinges on the word of the owner, and was regularly taken away after a period of time (including one of my own raises) or was never fully delivered upon. You must also check your pay stubs to make sure promised money is actually paid to you.
• Company Growth - is probably long gone... During my years here I saw the best of the best employees fired while the "yes men" were kept around. You will be required to constantly give ideas and suggestions for promotions, sales, marketing, classes (even though they pay multiple salaries for admins/instructors to do this), but rarely will any of those ideas be put into practice.
• Horrible morale - Constant micromanaging makes the workday almost unbearable. Store managers don't really have authority, just talking heads for the owner and VP. Very little incentives for sales team, so it's hard to keep them motivated especially when they don't have product to sell to make their money.....
They just really don't get it.....
