Toxic leadership and misleading practices, look elsewhere

Pros

Decent pay, used to be a good company with great healthcare coverage and reasonable growth targets.

Cons

I am not someone who typically leaves negative reviews because I understand every employee’s experience is different. However, I cannot in good conscience stay silent about this one. Do not work for this company. Employees are brought in under false pretenses, only to have expectations and compensation changed once they’re already invested. Leadership regularly prioritizes quick revenue over what is actually best for customers, creating pressure to sell products that are not a good fit simply to hit numbers. The culture is incredibly toxic. Morale is terrible, turnover is high, and I personally knew multiple employees who cried regularly because of the environment. In a recorded company meeting, employees were told they did not need to take lunch so they could spend more time meeting with customers. I would also encourage prospective employees to look critically at the reviews you see here. There were far more negative reviews on this page not long ago, and many have since disappeared.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. While we are disappointed to hear that your experience was not a positive one, we appreciate all feedback and take employee concerns seriously. As a growing technology company, we have experienced significant change over the past several years. Growth often brings new processes, evolving expectations, and increased accountability, which can be experienced differently by different individuals. While many employees have found opportunities to develop and grow alongside the company, we recognize that not everyone experiences organizational change in the same way. We would also like to address one point in your review. Companies (including Criteria Corp) do not have the ability to remove positive or negative Glassdoor reviews simply because they disagree with them. Reviews are governed by Glassdoor's policies and moderation standards. We respect the platform as a place for employees and former employees to share their experiences, whether favorable or critical. We remain committed to listening, learning, and continuously improving. Over the past several years, we have invested in leadership development, employee feedback channels, career growth opportunities, and creating an environment where team members can do their best work while contributing to our mission. We sincerely thank you for your contributions during your time with the company and wish you success in your future endeavors.

Pros

A few talented coworkers who try to support each other. The product concept has potential, even if the execution falls short.

Cons

Hands-down the most toxic workplace I’ve ever been part of. Micromanagement is out of control. You are not trusted to make even the smallest decisions about your own day. Every minute feels monitored. Leadership is completely dysfunctional. There is no vision, no alignment, and no accountability. Decisions change daily, and chaos is the norm. Management routinely talks down to employees—condescending, dismissive, and often outright rude. Psychological safety is nonexistent. Severe overwork is treated as normal, and any concerns you raise are ignored or brushed off. The culture is driven by fear, ego, and control rather than performance, teamwork, or basic respect. If you value autonomy, respect, or a healthy work environment, this is absolutely not the place to be.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. While it’s difficult to read, we take concerns like these seriously. We’re glad to hear that you experienced support from some of your colleagues and saw potential in the product both of those are important aspects of who we are. At the same time, the concerns you’ve raised around leadership, communication, and work environment do not reflect the experience we aim to create, and we recognize that there are moments in a company’s evolution where we do not get everything right. As a growing technology company, we have been navigating significant change which includes scaling our teams, refining our operating model, and increasing clarity around priorities and performance. We know that during periods like this, inconsistency or lack of alignment can be felt more acutely, and that’s an area we are actively working to improve. We are continuing to invest in our leadership capability, clearer communication, and creating an environment where team members are trusted, respected, and able to do their best work. Building a culture of accountability and psychological safety is a priority, and we are committed to making progress in a meaningful way. We appreciate you sharing your perspective and wish you the best moving forward.
