Low Pay - No Benefits and a toxic culture

Cross Resource Group Response
3yCross Resource Group was established in 2006 by myself and my husband. The post is correct in noting that we are Christian believers, who speak of our faith in Jesus Christ daily. Part of our business practice has been to host a Monday morning devotion, this is totally optional to attend. We believe in starting our week off with a fresh focus, and giving our first fruits to the Lord. For that we make no apologies.
Our base pay, commission structure and benefits package all trend on fair and marketable wage for the positions held. We pride ourselves in being able to offer a wide variety of options for medical, dental, eye, life, long/short term disability insurances. A portion of the employee medical is covered by CRG, other coverage is optional but available as per their needs.
As for myself being a schoolteacher, that is correct. What the author of the post does not know is that during my years teaching school, I was also working with CRG. It was actually myself who wrote the business plan, presented to the bank to gain funding, and signed my name on every line, holding the risk involved with running a business. I spent years teaching school during the day and running all administrative task related to the business at night until we could hire someone to do those things during the day.
Regarding the comments made about Jimmy spending time hunting, this points out one of the reasons why we were willing to take on the challenges of being business owners. By running this company, Jimmy has bought back his time which allows for him to do the things he loves to do. It’s obvious that the writer of this post has never held the responsibility of employees on their shoulders. Even while Jimmy is away, he is constantly working the business. There are hours of time and high amounts of stress that are involved in keeping the infrastructure of a company sound. Sometimes stepping away to go hunting and fishing is the best place for clarity.
It saddens me that someone who worked for us for a good long while would have this opinion of the company and us personally. Unfortunately, something we have learned over the years is that you are not going to make everyone happy. We do our best to walk daily with the Lord and do what we can to love people well when they are with us. When employees leave CRG we send them off with good wishes and hopes for their future to be blessed. Our prayer for whoever wrote the anonymous post is that they will find a place of employment that better fits their needs.
