Pros

Fabulous location in the middle of Shoreditch. Some really enthusiastic young staff. Some cool clients to say you work with.

Cons

The only person in senior amnagement who we like is leaving :( The rest of the management team put fake reviews on here which is an outrage - they put positive ones to balance out the one star reviews. Crying in the toilets is common. None of us have been out of uni all that long, which makes for a fun atmosphere but it's pretty clear nobody knows what they're doing, so I don't know who to ask for help from. The two bosses punish us publicly, like sending passive aggressive all-staff emails which are really pointed and it's obvious who they are talking about. The only people I like are leaving. One senior person like I say, plus 4 others in the last 6 weeks, plus I know 2 people who are about to hand in tehir notice shortly, plus 3 who are wondering whether to do the same. There's only 30 people total so that's around a third of the team. Lol. Feel bad for our new guy brought in to manage staff retention. Losing battle! Only the poisonous people who brown nose the bosses and push other poeple down are planning to stay. It's pretty telling that the guys who have worked here for the longest have only been here about a year and they are leaving already. Please please whatever you do, do NOT work here!!!!!! I'm placing my bets now...... This company will not exist in about a years time because everythings going to fall apart. I repeat, do not work here!!!

Pros

You will make good work. No company will ever push you harder, make more outrageously ridiculous requests from you, and push you beyond the limits of your capabilities. You will probably leave more capable than when you started – with a new found understanding of the importance of saying ‘No; that’s impossible’ and 'You don't get to decide if you're inspirational' to future bosses. That being said, I think Cult is probably wonderful to engage with as a client, but it's like buying something made in a sweatshop or full of palm oil - you just need to make the choice to not think about the process of getting you what you want.

Cons

It's very likely you'll crawl out as a shrivelled husk of your former self – bereft of personal life, confidence totally beaten out of you, feeling incapable of anything – despite the fact you’ve just worked harder, faster, and on more things that seemed impossible than most people ever will. As plenty of people have mentioned, the co CEO’s and those in their inner circle are, and I do not say this lightly, vicious bullies who publicly shame and chastise. Hard work is seldom rewarded or acknowledged. Minor slip-ups (which will happen when people regularly work late into the night and over weekends) are blown out of all proportion as the management live in fear of losing a client. The rate and regularity with which people quit, and the difficulty in recruiting to fill those gaps is really telling. It also means that those who haven’t got out yet are left under ever increasing pressure as teams and support systems shrink, whilst the demands being made of them remain the same, or increase in an attempt to over-service clients. The co-CEO's make a real effort to appear warm and loving and use the word Family non stop. If this is a family it's an abusive one based around the false support of a forced sisterhood, a failure to meet basic HR HR needs and requirements and parents who will stab you in the back at any moment. They are charismatic leaders, manipulating and controlling everything, making Cult the perfect name for that they have built.

Pros

Big-name brands and clients, such as Yo!Sushi, Garfunkels, Katy Perry, Davidoff & Barbour. Average pay salary for full-time employee MacBook computers for work Other mid-level account managers are nice and skilled

Cons

Extremely toxic environment as co-founders micro-manage and destroy your work, effort and ethic. No realistic expectations or support: From day one you are thrown in the deep-end and expected to juggle ongoing tasks without proper briefing or introduction to the clients. Abusive treatment from one of the co-founders, including constant public humiliation and tear-down of your work. This has affected my mental state and has had a huge negative impact on my confidence and abilities. Destructive feedback limits your capacity to improve your work and lowers morale. The most constructive piece of feedback received during employment was "nice subject line", when crafting an email to a client. Limited point of view in terms of workflows, team building and ethics. Double-standards and favorites destroy morale and the sense of community that comes from a small agency, being told-off for any given reason or sent off to do menial tasks below your pay-grade Poor work-life balance: 24/7 e-mails and early starts/late nights whether there are tight deadlines or not. No lunch hour, be prepared to quickly by your food and eat at your desk. Arriving or leaving on time earns looks and is constantly frowned upon, whether you completed your work or not. Calling in sick usually means working from home or is otherwise frowned upon to miss more than one day of work. Run by 20-year olds, the entire place feels cliquey, in which circles are quickly formed and gossip spreads like wildfire. Constant judgement of each other and high egos often get in the way of mutual respect and professionalism between employees. No personal/professional development as managers do not care for anything other than making money.
