Pros

The team is wonderful to work with. There is a lot of collaboration, appreciation, and support within the team.

Cons

Upper management does not support the team. Benefits and compensation are not industry standard.

Pros

Remote work and flexible schedules. The company was already mostly remote before pandemic and is now 100% remote. Because they were already managing remote teams for several years' prior there are a lot of good systems in place for people to feel connected. I haven't met some of my team members in person, but I still feel like part of a team. It's a small company but despite that they offer great benefits and institute unlimited PTO last year. During the pandemic leadership was flexible and empathetic with those of us who had kids learning at home and crazy schedules. They are constantly updating the product and it's rewarding helping teachers and students, especially the past couple of years. The employees genuinely like each and enjoy working together. Even when ideas and strategies are debated, it's clear everyone really just wants what's best for the company and for the customers. Management has been really transparent about wanting to change the company culture the last few years and ask for feedback on how they can improve or grow. Plus, the company is growing so there's a lot of opportunity to have input into your career path within the company. Management is genuinely interested in helping people on their career track even if that track leads them elsewhere.

Cons

As much I love working from home, I do miss the opportunity to connect with my co-workers even if it's just monthly. This is a remote first company so if you don't work well at home it's not for you. The company is small and still growing so it's not very competitive in terms of salary. They do offer a lot of other benefits and flexibility because of that, but if it's all about the money for you this probably won't satisfy.
