Pros

It pays the bills Work life balance is pretty decent if you manage it yourself They spend enough time, money and effort on buying awards like the Financial Times con, that outside observers might not cotton on to what sort of institution it is, so it might not be a complete curse having worked here

Cons

Per the title - The Partners are not paying people the bonus, per the published bonus format, despite team exceeding quantitative targets. This is nothing short of greed by the Partners, who quantitatively and morally, have not earned it themselves Dishonest dealings with clients, resulting in employees quitting on moral grounds Senior leadership does not have the competence or behaviours to operate a management consultancy firm, so to maintain their place at the table, slate those beneath them to attempt to salvage some credibility. Managing Partner seems content to surround himself with mediocrity and appalling behaviours, on the basis that they do not challenge for leadership Centralised, obscured decision making followed by a void in communication Mind-blowing levels of hypocrisy, holding others accountable to a standard they have never once demonstrated themselves. Literally outright refusing to create a feedback system for consulting staff to Partners Astonishing attitude towards development and careers management. The promotion rate is glacial

Pros

If you are able to become one of the favourites of the Managing Partner, you are able to progress. If not you will be better of to start applying elsewhere as you will not be rewarded for any progress.

Cons

Despite having made many promises during the application process, Curzon does not provide any useful trainings. As such it is a place you should avoid at the start of your career or when you want to develop yourself. The company heavily relies on projects from one major client and fail to win recurring projects from new accounts. This being mainly the result of an aggressive and abrasive culture both towards employees and clients.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your employment at Curzon. We are truly sorry you aren’t having a great experience, and as a current team member, I would urge you to speak to me or your mentor to discuss your concerns in person. I want to assure you that we can work towards some resolutions or determine that we may not be the right employer for you. But, either way, please know that this is OK. In relation to your opinions on your expectations and training, it is never our intention to make empty or unachievable promises throughout the application processes; we continue to address the individual training and development needs of our employees and urge individuals to take responsibility for their own requirements. The Senior Leadership team have already instigated changes in personnel to drive the change agenda across all aspects of Curzon life. We will be announcing the results of a full review of our People Strategy in the coming weeks which will allow us to course-correct and drive faster on our quest for an improved culture at Curzon. I am sorry you feel let down. I urge you to speak with me so we can address your specific concerns.

Pros

- Gives you experience in consulting. - Can sometimes meet and learn from experienced professionals.

Cons

- The top heavy structure and hierarchy of the organisation (in terms of Partners) makes the organisation extremely resistant to change, despite being a small company. - The calculations of salary and bonus are questionable with a lack of clarity on metrics (from my understanding this is a legal requirement). - Cognitive bias is apparent, in terms of variations in training and projects provided to a select few. - Minorities of any kind are not appropriately supported for growth in the firm or listened to. - There is a combative nature in the firm whereby constructive criticism and solutions when offered result in a portrayal of employees as "trouble makers". - Reports of inappropriate behaviour and conduct are not taken seriously enough. - Overall, an extremely stressful environment to work in.

I want to thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback and sharing your thoughts about your employment at Curzon. We are truly sorry you didn't have the best experience, but your comments are valued and will help us make lasting improvements. In respect of your comment relating to the clarity around salary and bonuses, Curzon has a robust performance management process in place, whereby employees are rewarded on merit, however, we realise transparency and communication about these processes can and is always being improved. In relation to culture, we take great pride in the amazing talented workforce we have here at Curzon. We are working continuously to improve our diversity and inclusive culture; our BAME and female representation, now accounts for a third of our leadership team and almost half of all our employees (as of the start of our financial year). However, we appreciate there is always more we can do to make it a great place to work and are committed to make all employees feel more included, appreciated and safe at work. The Senior Leadership team have already instigated positive change in personnel to drive the change agenda across all aspects of Curzon life. We will be announcing the results of a full review of our People Strategy in the coming weeks which will allow us to course correct and drive faster on our quest for an improved culture at Curzon but understand that change hasn’t come soon enough for you. We are considerate of individual views; however, Curzon will continue to reassess our diversity through meritocracy to increase opportunity and fairness across the firm to drive future success. We thank you once again for taking the time to leave your review and wish you every success in your career.
