Smart group of young talent, severe lack of effective and encouraging upper management
Pros
Cutline has an amazing client roster and are known for great work. I had the pleasure of working amid a group of young, yet amazingly talented women who drive things forward for their clients. For the most part, culture was great - when it came to my fellow peers, those who were either a few levels above/below me. Energy from THIS particular group was great.
Cons
Dissimilar from peers at similar levels, upper management at Cutline needs help. The agency leaders are quick to decide who is or is not a favorite and will highlight every small or large issue as insubordination, which is ridiculous and sets a negative working tone whereby an employee feels targeted and anxiety stricken. This creates a hostile working environment. There are also levels of hypocrisy present in this agency whereby while one person who is favored may be consistently late to meetings, they are not spoken to about it. However if someone who is not favored is late once, there are consequences. From employee to employee, a business should treat everyone the same. In addition, I quit abruptly due to what frankly, was a certain level of bullying from upper management but did not get the opportunity to have a formal exit interview nor did upper management share any correspondence with me on the day I quit. Even after the fact, radio silence. Even weeks after, sending a note inquiring as to why I wasn't offered a formal exit, silence. This sets incredibly poor form.
