Pros

Lab mates are great and supportive. You learn to multitask quickly. If the department is well staffed, you get to learn a handful of assays. Snacks are provided and ample parking in the area. Uber Eats is familiar with the address Bathrooms are clean

Cons

Staff turn over is high (12-14 months before leaving for different opportunities) Not much support from upper management Pay is below average for the area Maternity leave is nonexistent Heavily profit driven and you will be reminded so Work-life balance is hard to maintain.

A terrible place to work

There is nothing to recommend working here. Management get hung up on tiny details of no particular importance and are extremely reluctant to change anything. Staff turnover is extremely high (70% in 12 months!) Employees are therefore expected to work far longer hours than the nominal working week of 40 hours. It is not unusual to find staff working 12 hours days and weekends with no overtime payments. Employees are verbally abused and humiliated on a regular basis, frequently in front of other staff. Day-to-day planning/scheduling of work is poor and there is a definite culture of blame.
