Pros

The company has a relentless attention to detail especially in delivering consistency across the brand. There is a huge emphasis on exceeding expectations of the guests and there is a budget to do this. The food is second to none and the menus are exceptional

Cons

As a manager, where I previously had a massive amount of autonomy, I found the routine and consistency around the brand very stifling. There were too many people forced to help, where actually this was undermining and gave the team a confusing situation, where they had too chiefs and not enough Indians. The way the commission was used to work towards paying above minimum wage for the waiters was initially, what I thought a great way to pay fairly, however this took away from the waiters receiving any additional tips and the rest of the tips mysteriously were absorbed into the wage costs??

Pros

Average pay, beautiful restaurants… this is where it ends unfortunately.

Cons

Extremely toxic. They give you anxiety and mental health issues, afterwards they treat you as a liability. No work-life balance. High turnover- for a reason. A new GM every half a year to a year, with a new mgmt every 6 months at best. Bullying and intimidation until they break you. Overworked every single day as you not only need to be a manager on duty, but also run a section, bar, commis all at once. Head office is shambles, no communication whatsoever. You have to find out about promos from social media adverts. Selling sites together with the team, including people who have worked and proven themselves to the company for over 10 years.

Pros

My colleagues and food on shift (that is, when we were allowed a break)

Cons

Managers expect you to work without breaks, even though it’s a legal requirement, when I asked for my break my manager spoke to me like with terrible attitude and acted as though I was being I reasonable. This happened regularly to all staff. “Service charge” goes mostly to management and about 2% to serving staff but customers are told that it goes “directly” to staff. Very demanding work and hours for minimum wage. Customers treated like gold and employees like dirt. Wouldn’t recommend working for this company to my worst enemy.
