Pros

Once upon a time Mesosphere was actually having a descent product and something what added value to their customers.

Cons

The lowlight started when D2iQ laid people off last month and was saving themselves commissions and bonuses. People in Presales have been used and only because the new Konvoy product has no chance against competitors, people need to be axed. The strategy for Konvoy is ridiculous and laughable but with no surprise if managed and pit together by execs who don’t understand container orchestration. Only when I left I was able to see real competitive deployments of Kubernetes in customers, customers who never wanted to talk to us at D2iQ. Don’t believe the Konvoy story, most customers gave me honest feedback after I left and they struggle to understand based on the website advertisement what D2iQ is actually trying to offer and obviously never sell. Today’s view of the company is that all good and descent people left and only non-achievers are left. Having spoken to many of my US and EMEA colleagues, I found that nearly everyone is actually actively looking around for new roles. I‘d avoid this company as you will never sell the product.

Pros

Some brilliant colleagues Good pay conditions Remote working

Cons

In the last couple of years two thirds of the people was let go or has left by themselves while, in the meantime, the DC/OS product was suddenly announced End of Life forcing the customer to migrate or leave. The cash left from last round of financing is almost exhausted so that the only option management had was to work on the bottom line so that cuts and savings is the new normal. The relevant people that contributed on the Kubernetes product is all gone leaving an overworked and headless engineering function.
