Pros

- The team/employees are great - The work is interesting

Cons

PLEASE stay away. It is not worth it. Each day working with the folks running the company is mentally taxing, and having to turn a blind eye on immoral practices. Anyone who's capable of leaving will have already done so, or is in the process of doing so. These are not the folks you want to work for. If I could give a score lower than 1, I would. - The leadership team is incompetent, examples below: - I'll give Sheldon credit for being honest; he will let you know his opinion (whether or not he's right is a different question), and tell you how he really feels. He won't mince words if he feels that you're not working hard or fast enough, though his expectations are unrealistic, and borderline illegal. No, working at nights shouldn't be expected. No, working on the weekends isn't the norm (especially not for this type of a "start-up"). He will try to abuse any government grant, or work programs to hire the most vulnerable people in the industry - fresh graduates, folks on work visa. That in itself isn't surprising, as that seems to be (unfortunately be) fairly common in the industry, but he will hang that over your head, almost threatening you with it. I will not get into the nepotism he displays, but there's a reason why any competent accountant is out the door in a matter of months, but his unqualified wife continues to run the books (and incorrectly at that). - The CTO (Adrian) is not up to date with the latest technology, talks in vague, tech buzzwords, but is unable to talk about the technical specifics of the projects. If you ask him how parts of the projects are implemented, he will have no idea about the project specifics. Though it might be unfair to call him out on not knowing the implementation details of the projects, he would not be able to describe the architecture of any project either. I'm sorry, but having managerial certificates, and other qualifications does not make you a competent tech manager, or a competent tech lead. He's just an echo chamber for Sheldon. If you ever work with him, watch your back; he will say one thing, pretending to be your friend, but behind closed doors, he will stab you in the back/trash talk you as soon as he can. - They will try to get out of paying their employees, giving a fair wage, or handing out raises as much as possible.

Pros

- you can work from home, as long as you get your work done - nice office location in Yaletown, assuming they haven't moved it to Surrey yet. - CEO (Dan) is a fun guy and most of the employees are great.

Cons

- Dan might be the CEO but make no mistake, Sheldon (COO) runs the place, and he runs it like a bully. Penny pinching doesn't begin to describe him, as he monitors every piece of food or office supply purchased. yet his wife is on the payroll for only some light HR onboarding and bookkeeping, but never comes into the office. - it doesn't matter what job you do, Sheldon thinks he can do your job better than you, so you will be continually questioned about your performance. - continual overhaul of employees. a few have been around for awhile, but most have been there a few months and will get fired and replaced, or not replaced at all, leaving the work to fall on the few remaining staff. - the company gets sued all the time. just do a simple google search. not sure if any of the lawsuits have been successful, but where there is smoke, there's fire. - if you have any ethics, you might as well leave them at the door, because these guys have basically none.

Pros

- Get to wear different hats, do various tasks. As a student who just graduated from school, you could learn a lot more stuff. - Never get bored with tasks, there are a lot of interesting projects going on. - Smart, bright, fun group of colleagues to work with. Always can learn a lot from them. - A major player in NA crypto and blockchain place, the outlook for this company is very exciting.

Cons

- Things might get super busy, so be prepared. - Lack of culture or employee morale development.
