Pros

None, considering the way I was treated during my short time at the company.

Cons

Misleading Interview Process: I went through an extensive interview process, which included 5 interviews and 2 case studies, spanning over a month from May till mid-June. This process implied that I was a suitable candidate for the junior FP&A analyst role. Delayed Start and False Promises: I eagerly accepted the offer in late June, only to be told that my start date would be in late July. This delay resulted in missed opportunities with other potential employers, as I trusted DNA Script's commitment. Abrupt Termination: Shockingly, after only one week of working at DNA Script, I was informed that my contract was being terminated because I was deemed "too junior" for the position. This decision is deeply unfair and unprofessional, considering the rigorous interview process I endured and their prior knowledge of my qualifications. Wasted Time and Energy: Not only did I invest considerable time and energy preparing for the interviews and the role, but I also halted my job search after accepting DNA Script's offer. This decision made me lose other potential opportunities, making my experience even more disheartening. Lack of Consideration: It's utterly unprofessional to evaluate an employee's capability after just one week of work, especially when the company had full knowledge of my background and skills beforehand.

We understand the process is long and challenging. In fact, 2/3rd of all candidates highlight this in the survey we systematically send them. We inform applicants about the length and structure of the process either in the job description or during the first interview with the hiring manager/TA representative. At the same time, as recognized by 84% of our candidates, this enables them to have a clear understanding of the company and of their future role. Once the offer is accepted, we align the start date with both the candidate’s and our availability. Due to the context of this role (maternity leave), all late-stage candidates were informed about the start date being around mid-July. At the time of employment, employees at similar level are being treated fairly with each other. We make sure that, upon arrival, everyone receives a clear 30/60/90 plan describing tasks, expectations and what success looks like for their role. This framework is adjusted for short-term contracts. The competence of employees is assessed on their ability to perform the tasks highlighted in the job description and in this plan. It’s something we cannot fully measure during the interview process, so every employee has an opportunity to openly discuss the workload and difficulties, if any, with their manager to adapt and optimise the tasks. Short term contracts have short probation periods. Due to this, we take quick, but informed decisions backed by the discussion with the HR team. If we decide to stop the contract early, both the manager and the HR team offers support with finding a new role.

Pros

The EDS technology is revolutionary and very efficient. Enthusiasm and hardwork are prevalent in the on-site employees working in main engineering and validation lab.

Cons

Management of all levels mostly work from home so they are oblivious to instrument progress and individual contributors to projects. No female executives. No clear pathways or options for career growth. Promotions are rare and only result in minor pay increases. They will compare the % pay increase to your original salary to justify cap/limit in pay raise even though role/title may be completely different. No opportunity to gain additional equity or stock options other than what is stated on original contract. Company expects you to be on stand-by at all times to allow for communication with Paris team and contract engineers in Ukraine. Limited work life balance. Company stresses “transparency” as a core value but leaders don’t follow through in sharing projects and progress within company. The only transparency they practice is the gossip they share about other less technical employees behind closed doors with other executives.
