Pros

Handing in my notice.

Cons

The Forum for Expatriate Management (FEM) has recently been acquired by DVV Media and continued to employ the senior management communications and sales team, with which the toxic culture has also been acquired. During my time working for the FEM portfolio I experienced a series of underhand management styles that included: - A fundamental issue in hiring a single marketing person. To be a strategist, analyst, social media, website, email and digital lead as well as a membership owner is widely unrealistic and unproductive. - A refusal to understand strategic marketing developments (despite not having any marketing expertise) - An irate temperament that condoned a toxic, bullying culture. In my ten years of marketing I’ve never witnessed such poor, backhanded management or delivery.

Pros

Going home on a Friday and having two days away from work.

Cons

I can't speak for the rest of the company but... My portfolio was taken over by DVV Media International in May. Since the day I joined my portfolio I wanted to quit after two days as it was awful. Just some of the things I experienced during my short time on my portfolio were... - Constant negativity towards ex employees by the senior management team - An argument between some members of the team in front of everyone (so embarrassing and incredibly awkward and unprofessional) - Bullying behaviour at events being shouted at continued to do so even though the manager could tell i was visibly upset I honestly felt like I had been set up to fail from day one, the work load is unmanageable, corporate bullying is rife, they have a disciplinary policy procedure in place but they don't follow it so you are screwed if you have been their for less than 2 years. The last person who had my role was there for 6 months and quit with no other job to go to because they couldn't stand it so I think that speaks volumes about the culture. If you have worked somewhere where they truly value and support their staff you will know how awful this place is.
