Neat Business, But No Communication & Exclusionary Culture
Pros
-Decent pay and benefits -Nice location in Saratoga. -Interesting work, fast paced. -Great food from restaurants. -Friendly and nice restaurant staff. -The office dog is a sweetheart. -People seem generally willing to help if you ask if not a little startled you're talking to them on occasion. -Owner has their grandkids by frequently, didn't bother me but some may not like the noise and chaos.
Cons
-No set employee parking. -Bad office communication in general, for instance there was a lack of clarity on my status as part time vs full time that lasted weeks. -Meetings are a lot of bickering and few action items in my experience. -Typical "we love new ideas and people" business but not actually receptive to new ideas. -There's hostility from some towards some restaurant employees; eye rolls and "just humor them." -Huge communication gaps in marketing department. I was not given a lot of essential information even after asking for clarification multiple times. -In marketing as well I was the occasional subject of uncomfortable and undermining jokes and comments which just kind of stunk. I was told "you won't be working here long anyway" a few times as a "joke." -Unclear creative feedback depending on your department, a lot of: "nice but can you just...punch it up? Make it better?" -Meetings are only planned verbally. I was just asked "are you coming?" each time and never given meeting notes.
