Pros

Dash Hudson provided an outstanding experience with a supportive sales team and helpful managers. The sales team members were knowledgeable and went above and beyond for my success. The managers were always available and genuinely invested in my growth. The company organized team events, fostering camaraderie, and offered flexible working hours. I highly recommend Dash Hudson for a dynamic work environment prioritizing collaboration, growth, and employee well-being.

Cons

While my experience at Dash Hudson had its positive aspects, there were a few significant drawbacks that I believe need to be addressed. One of the main concerns was the constant changes within the company. It often felt like there was a lack of stability, with processes, procedures, and even strategies being altered frequently. This level of unpredictability made it challenging to establish a sense of consistency and impacted productivity. Furthermore, there was a drastic cut in commission rates, which had a significant impact on the earning potential of the sales team. This change was unexpected and created financial uncertainty for many employees who relied on commissions as a significant portion of their income. The lack of prior communication or negotiation regarding these adjustments was disappointing and left many feeling undervalued. Additionally, there appeared to be a significant gap in communication and trust between the management at the director and CEO levels and the managers who directly oversaw teams. Mistrust was palpable, and there were instances of sudden layoffs without adequate explanation or warning. It was unsettling to experience a situation where management would express satisfaction with our performance one day, only to have us all unexpectedly laid off the next morning without any knowledge or input from our immediate supervisors. This lack of transparency and the seemingly contradictory actions of the company's leadership left many employees feeling uncertain and disheartened. Overall, due to the issues of constant changes, lack of transparency, and uncertainties surrounding job security, I would not recommend Dash Hudson as a workplace. It is crucial for any organization to prioritize effective communication, trust, and provide adequate notice or warnings for significant changes or layoffs. Unfortunately, Dash Hudson fell short in these areas, leading to a sense of unease and ultimately impacting the overall work experience negatively.

Thank you for your sharing your experience. Our Sales Development team experienced significant change this year, and I appreciate how difficult that must have felt while we strived to make the best decisions for the business. The market has changed significantly over the past few years, and the ways in which our customer wants to interact with us has also changed. We will continue to implement new strategies, learn from those that fail, and invest in those that work. Thank you for all you contributed to Dash Hudson during your time here, we appreciate you sharing this feedback.

Pros

I like the culture they are trying to build and can totally buy into it. If you don't like drinking the kool-aid, this place might not be a good fit. It's easier to get a fancy "director" title, if you care about that sort of stuff.

Cons

Engineering team needs more women, diversity is not the best in that department. I found some hiring decisions weird; I appreciate hiring local talent but you can't build a work class tech culture by hiring a corporate HR persona from NS Power.

Thank you for your review. I'm personally (this is Thomas the CEO) very proud of the work our HR, leadership, and Diversity teams have done to invest in learning, benefits, diversity, and culture. Your statement that a company in Halifax cannot hire locally to build a world class tech culture is short-sighted and uninformed. Dash Hudson has grown to be one of the leaders in our market by primarily hiring locally (in Halifax) across roles. It's one of the things I am most proud of, and something that makes Dash Hudson special.

Thank you for the review. It sounds like you had a very difficult experience at Dash Hudson and felt isolated. That must have been hard. We learn from every exit interview and review and so I appreciate you taking the time to do this. I respect your choice to remain anonymous and I hope you had the opportunity through your weekly one-on-ones and exit interview to express yourself. If you did not feel comfortable doing so, that would be something that would be helpful to know. Please reach out to me personally if you are open to discussing with me.
