You're shamed behind your back for small mistakes. Health and Safety is very very minimally maintained (EG flies everywhere, sticky floors and grime coated walls, questionable substances growing from ceilings, overheated kitchen with no AC or proper ventilation). Owner's priorities do not lay with employees or customers, but with his profits ("I don't care if the customers complain, you're wasting f*g money!"[Joe Dash, AUG 2022]). Owner is verbally abusive to longtime employees working upwards of 50 hours per week, sometimes using ultimatums to threaten employees (EG, forcing employee to transfer locations on implied threat of being terminated). Refuses to promote within the company or give raises to consistently hardworking employees unless absolutely necessary. Price gouges on products. Extremely poor quality produce. Equipment is constantly breaking down and causing severe inconveniences towards production. Owner has been reported to leave the building quickly in the event of a customer being injured, further proving his complete lack of the "good Buffalo neighbor" attitude. Everyone is micromanaged to death by upper management. Employees straight-up fear the owner and whisper his name when he enters the store. Understaffed constantly. Employees forced to jump between departments or run errands between stores. Smaller stores forced to take large orders for customers despite not having the proper time or resources to prepare. Company money is spent on new aprons and fancy rugs instead of promotions, benefits, better products, or broken equipment. If you choose to work here be prepared for a toxic, fearful, manipulative joke of employment. You will not be recognized or praised as a good employee by upper management, rather taken advantage of and sucked dry. Look elsewhere for better wages and more cooperative work environment.
