I have always felt appreciated for my work.
Benefits are good.
Salary increases are provided regularly.
Kept me employed when contracts finished or had funding issues.
Cons
Your job is always tied to a particular contract, but they have many so they can move you around if something happens.
Lack of micromanagement means that you can approach projects as you see fit, good work-life balance, generous remote work policy
Cons
Lack of any real oversight for project development means goals are usually ill defined. Vague objectives were given for each month-long sprint but without any real timeline on how long these tasks should take or organized reporting of who's working on what, what the progress is, where the blocks are, etc.
