Pros

Ability to work from home from time to time. Games in the office to destress between breaks. Certain managers give you freedom of getting your work done without too much oversight.

Cons

Upper management struggles to run the company. They have short tempers and will convince you into thinking that all of the extra work and time that you're putting into the company including working most weekends is for the "betterment" of the company. However you'll never get paid overtime and you'll get a few hours off from time to time to make up for it, however nothing makes up for working seven days a week. Additionally, management tries to take on too many tasks with sales, PM, and payroll all at the same time. They won't hire proper sales staff. With PM work management drops the ball on a lot of tasks because they're too busy judgling too many tasks. With checks been delivered late, bonuses get changed yearly (they just got changed from quarterly to yearly), and your W2 will not arrive on time when it is supposed to, the lack of organization gets very frustrating very quickly.

We appreciate your feedback, the good and the bad. Data Meaning has grown a lot over the past year, and every day we are rolling out new initiatives to find talent with the same great skill levels of our current associates. While we can’t say that we witness others regularly working 7 days a week, we do know and appreciate our team members working extra hard to exceed our clients’ expectations. As for our senior leadership team and management, we are always looking to evaluate and improve our processes and culture. We value our employees and strive to make Data Meaning a great place to work. Thank you for your feedback and best of luck with your future endeavors.

Pros

Company culture is pretty family oriented. On-site, there are games (foosball, ping pong, darts) to play during breaks. Beer Fridge for Beer o'clock is stocked pretty regularly. Your individual project managers are awesome people that you'll probably enjoying working and interacting with. Trial by Fire - if you enjoy jumping into the thick of it and coming out on top, this is the place for you.

Cons

Depending on where you're placed, project wise, you may be faced with a lot of hectic scheduling. Management tends to over-promise and rely on it's employees to scramble to meet and deliver those promises. In those cases you'll work overtime and will not see any reward for it, paid or unpaid. The pay is pretty top-heavy. Based on the clients and revenue, the company should be willing and able to compensate it's hardest working employees appropriately. Parts of upper management has a certain need to micro-manage between teams even when they may not have the best insight into the current going-ons within each project. Team Leads/Manager should be given the sole reins to lead their teams to success. Chance for growth is sporadic. If you're not interested in going for MicroStrategy or Tableau certification this may not be the place for you. This is the bread and butter of the company and everyone needs to get them. Other certifications are unlikely to be paid for.

Pros

- Opportunity to work from home - MicroStrategy training

Cons

Assuming the company is going to exist for the next few years, it is a great place for inexperienced individuals seeking on the job training for leadership position. Instead of investing on experienced professionals the company prefers to fill leadership positions with individuals with zero experience (cost saving). Managers at Data Meaning are not only inexperienced, but also never received a formal leadership training. If one showed up randomly at Data Meaning, it won’t be too long before they see common traits of ineffective leadership. Micro managing, unclear objective, no accountability, taking credit for everything…etc are all too common at Data meaning. For a company of its size, the attrition rate is too high (hence my opening statement of this review).
