Pros

The more immediate management and the coworkers are great, everyone is friendly and easygoing.

Cons

The layoffs are getting out of hand. In 2021 and 2022 they tried to rapidly grow the business by mass hiring. They depicted themselves as a safest and most secure workplace, while they had no problem firing over 20+ employees as soon as there was a minor economic instability. They didn’t fire the ones that were recently hired, rather the ones with the highest salary. Everyone can draw the conclusion for themselves here.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on your experience at Databox. We appreciate your feedback on the positive aspects of our workplace, particularly the camaraderie among immediate management and coworkers. We're proud of the culture we've built together and are dedicated to fostering an environment that supports each and every one of us. Regarding your concerns about recent layoffs, we want to acknowledge the impact such decisions can have on individuals and their families. Layoffs are indeed a difficult aspect of any business, and we understand the gravity of the situation. The recent workforce changes were a strategic business decision made in recognition that increased headcount and investment in certain teams did not result in improved outcomes. It's important to note that all affected employees were provided with a 30-day notice period along with appropriate compensation. Additionally, we offered support in the form of recommendation letters to assist them in their transition. We understand the challenges associated with these decisions and remain committed to treating our employees with respect and transparency throughout such processes.

Pros

You receive quality training to get you onboarded, goals reachable

Cons

They fired 20 people with higher salaries and after a month they started searching for people for the same positions but with starting salaries. So they advertise promotions and constant growth while the truth is far from it

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand that our recent decision to reduce the size of a few of our teams has caused confusion and concern. We were faced with a challenging decision to reduce the size of our team by 13 people due to over-hiring at the end of 2022. Despite our best efforts, these larger teams did not produce improved results. It is important to mention that this decision was not a reflection of any specific individual's performance and more a factor of not having enough work for the entire team. Further, we have not backfilled these roles, nor are we actively searching for new people to fill them. Additionally, we are being much more cautious about hiring too quickly going forward. We know this was an unexpected decision for the team members effected. So, in addition to our standard 30-day severance package, we provided full reimbursements for all computer equipment purchased. We appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best.

Pros

Employees are talented and great at what they do

Cons

Working at Databox was disappointing due to how far reality strays from what the company presents on its website. Everyone here is technically self‑employed, which allows the company to avoid paying the benefits that should legally be provided to employees. Recently, they terminated around 30 of us without offering any severance, showing a complete lack of responsibility or care for their workforce. The workload is consistently unreasonable, with people expected to stretch themselves far beyond healthy limits. The promises of work‑life balance and flexibility promoted online are nothing more than marketing slogans — in practice, you’re left overworked
