Pros
- People are willing to mentor. - Projects are not massive, good for people trying to learn process. - Younger staff included in client meetings and site visits with guidance from more experienced staff. - Willing to listen to what you want to work on and place you on that type of work. - Willing to support in the Arch. Exams with study material etc. - Phenomenal Work Life Balance, rarely staying late if ever!
Cons
- Strict vacation policy per level. Increase after 3 years. - Large gap between older and younger employee skills. Younger employees are software savvy but older staff managing does not have the knowledge to guide/manage the project files. - AutoCAD for some larger sized projects that should be in Revit, slowing overall production rate. - Little to no company standards when it comes to modeling/annotations. Little to no CAD Block or Revit family Library for workflow.
