Pros

Flexible hours, hybrid model available

Cons

If you are thinking about working here- DON'T. Trust me you are better than that- don't waste your time. Joined this company thinking it would be a good opportunity- however, I was sadly mistaken. The management at this company is a complete mess- consistently changing strategy on a day-to-day basis- management are just 'good talkers,' but actually lack real leadership ability and you don't learn anything from them. Most employees do not even understand the full capabilities of the product or how to explain it- so they struggle to gain interest. (A sales org that does not even know their own product c'mon) If you are looking for a company that is well organized, with structure- do not come here. I know they are taking initiatives to combat this problem, but thus far it has not been working. NO job stability- during my time there they fired employees, essentially just because they felt like it. Zero performance reviews or feedback given (clearly a culture that does not actually care about them). The turnover it also quite high.

Hey, thank you for your feedback. First, I appreciate knowing what’s on the minds of my employees, current or former and good or bad, because I always want to know what we need to do to make our team stronger. Second, it’s a key moment in a company’s evolution to receive their first negative Glassdoor review, and I want to be upfront and address this directly. (And hey, it’s a great sign we are growing!) We are a fast growing, quickly moving company. We love that. It’s an exciting time and we are doing amazing things. In growing from just two people to where we are now, we've made a few mistakes, and I'm sure we'll make more. If we aren't making mistakes, we probably aren't trying. As a core value of our company, we try really hard not to make the same mistake twice. Regardless of our growth, this is how we will always be: We are an innovative and high performing tech team, and that’s what we always want to be. We and our people will grow and be stronger this way. To those reading this (thanks for the attention!), some of what’s said here is true, some of it is through a contextual lens. Here’s the action we’ve taken to live by our beliefs: - We hired a dedicated People & Culture Manager as Employee #11 - She’s awesome. Please come and met her. - We’ve implemented regular 1:1’s, code reviews, and peer mentoring - Not to check up, but to teach, coach, get feedback and make our team stronger. We believe in making the space for that, I can commit to you that we're following through. - We've changed our recruiting practices to use raw skills only as a bar for getting in the door, and now give even more weight to values and culture fit.

Pros

Pay for "entry level" roles okay - make sure you factor in the lack of pension/equivalent, flexible work encouraged and supported

Cons

The phrase "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" really applies to Daylight. You will meet some wonderful incredibly intelligent people throughout the hiring and onboarding process, as well as on most teams. Just remember the people you work with isn't 100% of what makes up job satisfaction and there is a wild amount of love bombing going on your first month. If you're suspect of the high turnover (please check the former name of Daylight too while researching), you should be. All problems are blamed on the past, and with so much turnover, there are a lot of names and teams available to throw under the bus when they need reasons. Daylight hires incredibly smart, kind people and does a great job of screening for culture - but fostering it? Not at all, and these smart, kind people leave as soon as they can unless they have personal reasons for having to stick it out. What hasn't changed? Senior leadership, HR, the clients, and the platform itself. :)
