Pros

True market niche, competitive salary and a bonus plan is an industry best. Very profitable organization relative to the industry average. Great sales reps, VP of Sales, National Account VP of Sales, and operations people whom work hard day in and day out, Compentent CFO, ability to learn organization from top to bottom and grasp what a true hierachial management structure is. Additionally, the customer service team has improved signifigantly since the 2000s, and friendly internal support. Bonus structure is competitive; however, it has been changed signifigantly since the early 2000s.

Cons

Service issues and damage to freight, benefits are not anything compared to working for a large multinational. Compensation is squarly centered in salary. Lean organization with minimal support and management whom provides little to no real formalized training nor investment in continuing education despite hiring people from outside the industry. Unfortunately, within all levels of the organization there seems to be an intimidating management style. No real focus on sustainability (people and planet) as far as diversifying their investment portfolio. Behind other carriers as far as asset centered growth is concerned. High turnover in other aspects of the organization. Profit is solely the main focus of the organization.

Pros

Supportive working environment with management who treats you like an adult. You are advised what is to be expected of you. It is a quick training but long transition to more task so they build you from the bottom and not just rush you into learning everything. Sick days available 401 k matching paid vacation days great coffee, tea, and chocolate drinks to choose from. friendly work atmosphere

Cons

I have non for now. Challenges comes with work and it is to be expected. It is up to you if you categorize it as a con or a great opportunity to prove to yourself you are better than a good challenge.

Pros

Decent way to get your foot in the door for the logistics/trucking industry. The experience you get at Daylight you can take to any of the major trucking and logistics companies.

Cons

You aren't an actual employee of Daylight. You're a temp worker contracted to Daylight through an agency, even the guys working on the dock for 15 years are technically temps. The benefits are crap and you have to hound them to actually get the benefits they promise you in the interview. Managers will treat you like garbage unless you've worked there for years. The dock itself is hectic and freight gets damaged easily because the terminal is way too small for the amount of freight going through there, it's an OSHA nightmare. Job is pretty stressful because they pretty much demand you pull off miracles on a nightly basis while working with a dock that's way too tiny and equipment that barely works and is always busted.
