      Horrible place to work

      Academic excellence Many folks wanting to do the right thing and working hard

      Cons

      President, board and leadership team has no clue and no touch with reality. No remote options, no pay increases for 3+ years. Hiring only single or childless people in seniority position. Blatant discrimination against people with families. No 46 in the country? Never would advise anyone to work here or send their kids to school. Their house of cards will collapse as people continue to leave and they treat phds like hourly workers.

      Pros

      Up until 10 years ago, DePauw attracted intellectually curious students willing to learn from intellectually driven faculty. The university flourished.

      Cons

      Nationwide events and changes in cultural values exposed the university for the eager sheep it was, following downward trends in activism that masqueraded as intellect. Enrollments have been declining, as politically driven faculty care more about pushing their political agendas instead of stirring scholarly thought. The leftward lurch of the university continues unchecked, despite the hollow drumbeat of diversity. In fact, the more it preaches diversity, the more it guarantees conformity.

      Work-life balance is lacking for some departments; too much to do with not enough staff to complete work need
