Pros

No pros for Dealer Car Search.

Cons

Don't trust the reviews! The CEO forces employees to write only good reviews on here, and it is apparent by the lack of genuine responses. The CEO will have a refutation for this reviews, but please do not dismiss this review flippantly. I have nothing to gain from this review, my only intention is to inform future curious job seekers. STEER AWAY FROM THIS FIRM! The CEO is abusive and power hungry. He brags constantly about how well he is doing, and what he has just recently purchased. He doesn't care about employees nor does he care about the profitability of his company in the future. The retained earnings go straight to his pocket and it is not returned to the business nor the overworked employees. The platform for the Dealer Car Search is a good platform, but that doesn't come from the CEO's brain trust. I don't want to speak to harshly about the CEO or other levels of management. My biggest concern is to inform job seekers about the facade that is Dealer Car Search. Stay away from here as far as you can because the leadership is toxic. Like I said previously, I have nothing to gain from this review, I just want to be the beacon of light the for job seekers. Stay away from the CEO and stay away from Dealer Car Search.

First of all I do not force anyone to leave any reviews. This review has been left by the same FORMER EMPLOYEE three different times. He changes up the review every time to make it look new. So if you see any other 1 star reviews on Glassdoor they all came from one person. Glassdoor needs to come up with a way to screen and verify these reviews so the public can get a true picture of what is actually going on inside a company. This person has an ax to grind with me personally and is completely misinforming folks with lies and completely false information. I reinvest large amounts of money back into the company every single month, we have substantial cash reserves, I give generous raises, I pay more than any similar company, I give back to numerous charities, Kids Cancer Alliance, Habitat for Humanity, and Homeless Shelters just to name a few, and I also give lots of money to my church. This person no idea what he is talking about.

Pros

The VP/Sales Manager is terrific. Some free shirts. They never actually spit on you.

Cons

• An early-90's boiler room management style • Sales scripts which are always 'perfect', but always change • Always business-casual dress code though 100% of work is phone • Forced harassment of car dealers, (some called 2-5 times per week!) • Hours of unproductive sales meetings/yelling sessions • Constant berating of employees by yelling/threats/emails • Inferior service which trails other competitor offerings for less cost • Sales focus in script on minute details of no interest to dealers • An abusive, seemingly bi-polar CEO who micromanages sales • No HR • An atmosphere of fear, low morale, and uncertainty • A company philosophy where learning about competition is heavily discouraged • A company policy where seasoned employees are forbidden to help others • Fast, unhelpful training program where you feel ignorant for first few months • Sales quotas are barely attainable; bonus levels rare • An environment where verbal abuse of employees is constant • A sales philosophy which is outdated, intrusive, and aggravating to potential customers • Seasoned employees have high residual income, so lower stress • Newer employees have a hit-or-miss opportunity to make sales • Short (1-week) sales cycle, little opportunity to improve as in a month cycle • Constant roller coaster: usually takes 2 weeks work to make quota every-other week • Constant threats and fear of losing your job • Unhappy sales force • Pie-in-the-sky promises, but only realized for long-term employees • Little to no diversity in sales force; minorities need not apply • Constant over-your-shoulder management • A market which is saturated with better equipped, friendlier competition • Investment in an outrageously expensive new building, higher sales goals to pay for it • CEO lords over sales force from upper level, yelling down at workers like a ship captain • Most divisive, negative, and unhealthy sales environment I've ever encountered • I'm only here for the salary, small monthly residual, and occasional commission • Contrary to some reviews, most employees in sales and support disrespect CEO • An extreme arrogance with management that only they know how to be successful • Reluctance of management to adopt new sales ideas • Constant reminders that only a 'few' built the company; no respect for all employees • Seasoned employees can't leave because of high residual income/ nothing else • Uncertainty made me second-guess my home and new car purchase • Worst place I've ever worked, but I stay until I can find something else

Pros

Great work force. Co-workers are great people and are motivated.

Cons

Upper management is tyrannical! The owner cares little for his employees and treats them that way.
