Pros
Meeting some of my coworkers who are now my friends.
Cons
Owners are awful and don't know a thing about lashing. Training was a joke- 3/5 days was spent on "team bonding" not even how to do eyelash extensions. I had to basically teach myself from videos they supply. The studio was never kept at proper humidity level, the adhesive sucked and wasn't stored properly, and the synthetic lashes used felt like plastic. Not to mention that clients always came in with makeup on. Apparently corporate was supposed to tell them when they made the appointment to not wear makeup but they wore it anyway so of course lashes won't adhere properly after cleansing waterproof mascara off for 30 minutes. Never had supplies in stock because it was never ordered or our manager didn't do inventory. Just all around unrealistic expectations from a poorly run business. Catty management as well who didn't care about employees concerns. My hours were cut often and by the time I quit I was down to 20 hours a week when I was supposed to be a full time employee. $10 an hour is not enough to live off of especially when I wasn't making any tips because people are cheap and commission was barely anything. Also it was super overwhelming not having a receptionist because you had to do everything yourself as a lash artist. Check in, lash, sell, check out, also stop mid service to go to the front if someone walked in to talk to them. It was a bit ridiculous. Work somewhere else that you will be valued, properly trained and have variety on products you can use.
