Pros

Salary and benefits were competitive.

Cons

The Dean of Educational Support Services is the least professional person I've ever worked with. She can not communicate her expectations effectively and often resorts to tactics that are associated with bullying in the workplace. Her presence as the leader of the Learning Commons at DCCC has made the working environment extremely unpleasant. I suffered from acute anxiety during my time there because of her hostility. Even more problematically, the upper administration and HR have been made aware on numerous occasions of how unprofessional she has treated her staff. Sadly, they have done little to support the 7-10 people underneath Tonya Briggs who have since found employment elsewhere, were relocated to other departments, or were fired.

Pros

Great benefits, the main campus is clean and well cared for.

Cons

Clueless leadership. I hear students are number 1 priority but faculty jobs go unfilled and overpaid administration jobs keep being created. Smaller campus locations need attention. Care taking wise.

Pros

The college is pretty well organized

Cons

Admins and full-time faculty do not always make the most intelligent decisions. It's a community college, so students demonstrate a wide-range of abilities and personalities. As an adjunct you are exploited- ie payed far less than full-time faculty, asked to cover other professors classes (at least the STEM Dean Schwartz routinely asks this of adjunct faculty). Unless you are retired or looking to modestly supplement your income, I would stay away from adjuncting at DCCC as DCCC is a career dead-end.
