Pros

Drivers and SOME plant staff are friendly. Fair amount of freedom in your day.

Cons

Management. Zero communication and they are quick to lie to you or make things up to benefit their stance. The environment is the most unhealthy I have ever worked for, I would literally be sick to my stomach going to work. Contractors and vendors wouldn’t have anything positive to say on the company either. Those who work hardest are punished most. Patch jobs, beat equipment, have to ask repeatedly for things and disrespect from management to hourly staff is horrendous.

Great Opportunity For Growth

Pros

This company is family owned and has been around for over 60 years in which the company has done nothing but grow and expand. I feel that this success is directly related to the fact that DVC invests in its employees both in internal training and excellent outside training programs. There is a wide array of opportunities including; office work, quality control technicians, sales representation, driving (concrete mixer trucks, dump trucks or tractor trailer tankers), plant production and maintenance. All of these departments work in tandem daily and have a family style of rapport that rely on each other constantly. There is also the opportunity to advance or pursue other options within the company if a different department appears more suitable to the employee. I have been here six years and have been given countless opportunities and grown professionally beyond my own expectations.

Cons

Some days can be long as we are a weather dependent supplier but this is where the separation of a driven employee opposed to a non motivated person can be seen.
