Pros

Fully remote, unlimited PTO and really great benefits

Cons

The company preaches transparency and being team-first as some of its core values but employees were mislead and deceived. Employees were told after securing Series B funding that the company had 3 years of runway at minimum just to lay 30% of the workforce off less than 3 months later. We lost so many amazing employees due to mismanagement of funds and overspending by the executive team. Executive team offsites taking place abroad while employees are getting laid off?? Doesn’t add up. The way the layoff occurred was cold, heartless, and didn’t give the affected employees any opportunity to even say goodby to coworkers. Once you were told your position was being eliminated your computer was factory reset and locked and your accounts were immediately disabled. No chance to say goodbyes to anyone or even take a moment to get contact information from one another. Obviously getting laid off sucks, but I was extremely disappointed in the way it was handled and wouldn’t have had so much resentment towards the company had they treated us like humans throughout the layoff process. Mistakes were made and times are hard but they could have made it easier by having a little bit more EMPATHY.

Pros

Absolutely nothing. Go find a better company that’s worth your time

Cons

Terrible leadership. Managers that don’t really care about their employees. Completely mislead and lied to employees about job security and laid off a massive part of their team, including myself in the coldest, least human way they could possibly do it. When I was laid off my manager didn’t even speak a word to me, after having what I thought was a good working relationship. Really hate the way this company treated its employees during those layoffs and still feel completely deceived with how it happened. I wouldn’t trust this company or upper leadership in the future to not make the same mistake again, mishandling funds and over hiring. Don’t work for this company. Find something better that’s worth your time and people you’ll be able to trust.

Pros

The people I worked with were great! They were always supportive and hard-working. The pay is fair and the benefits provided are pretty decent.

Cons

A mismanaged company that grew too fast and had to do layoffs during one of the worst times of the year. Leaving their former employees out in the cold while they go on extravagant offsites. There is a large disconnect between the CEO/CTO and the employees, it always felt like a club you were not cool enough to join. While they preached about inclusion and transparency. I can only hope that moving forward they care more about the employees that entrust their livleyhoods to them. It is very sad to see something that could have been so great be so mismanaged. Also the Denim name is terrible! Axle was better.
