overpaid and poor quality leaders

Pros

sorry nothing good to mention.

Cons

poor leadership hastened the company's demise. Everyone wants to be an Indian Chief which caused alot of friction in the workplace. Departmental cooperation is minimum, everyone is afraid to show tell the actual problem, because once you said, the management does't like to hear problems, and the problem most likely will ended up becoming yours. Turnover rate is amazingly high. Most people left with a bad aftertaste coz of the culture is that of a big political company concentrated into a <100 member space, so you can imagine the intensity multiplier. Company is 18years in operation, and yet the goods tracking is still using Excel to track. Crazy as it sounds, but it's true. The core structure is so bad that it is a cultural shock to most.

Pros

One or two nice colleagues. A lot of things that can be learnt.

Cons

Poor, temperamental management. Employees are shouted at by short tempered/impatient bosses. Environment not conducive for learning and development. Many meetings, and meetings have never ended early or on time. 1hr meeting on calendar = 2.5hrs meeting in reality. Does not matter even if you are called in for a last minute meeting at 6pm. Management does not care if you have a family outside waiting for your to buy dinner home. Favouritism is practiced in the company with preference provided to only the CHOSEN few. "We hear you", says the management/HR, only sounds good but does not really exist.

Pros

-No more pay delay as reviewed by others, yet. -Challenging environment to learn many things at once. -They try to attract people by giving high pay and high positions, so might be a good chance to negotiate for better benefit. -Adamant management that keeps the company alive for more than 15 years even without making profit until acquired by POET. -Good to learn multitasking and cope with high pressure environment.

Cons

-Still need to learn how to appreciate 'work but no-life balance' as reviewed by others. People with young children, join at your own risk. -Pressure are often caused by deadline set by management, and not by customer or market (if any). I guess the management like to see other people getting stress out in order to boost their ego? -Company direction and business model still not very convincing. It is just what they think is unique. -By not changing the previous management, it is hard to turn the culture around. -Communication is one way traffic. You listen and execute. Good for people that do not want to do much thinking. Lip service on welcoming feedback/suggestion/discussion is always made to please people, but does not mean they will even listen to it. -Many unnecessary and long meeting. You only left with after office hour to finish your work. -No noticeable value, just a place to work and earn a living. -Unfortunately, culture of shouting at and belittling people, as mentioned by others, still around.
