Extremely toxic environment

Pros

Coworkers were good. That is it.

Cons

The CEO is a joke. She is a terrible leader and decision maker who is not respected in the community. There have been many claims against the CEO for harassment, fraud, and creating a toxic work environment, yet the Board will do nothing about it. There is extreme favoritism shown in management. You will not have room for growth unless you are friends with someone in management. The HR is the worst I’ve ever seen. They are clueless and have no actual HR experience. They do not care about you as an employee at all. Stay far away from this place. Most toxic work environment I’ve ever been in. Have some respect for yourself and work somewhere else.

Great starter company to work for

Pros

Great co workers to work with. Family atmosphere throughout the company and plenty of great programs to keep employees engaged with one another.

Cons

Under paid for all positions. I understand that this is a non profit organization but the pay scale has to improve if you want to stop the revolving door.

Pros

There are some nice pros, such as job security, good benefits, regular feedback, some promotion potential, and ability to transfer departments. The managers are extremely understanding, flexible, and approachable, which makes the work environment more pleasant.

Cons

Some cons include poor pay because Denton County is the lowest paying county in Texas for mental health, lack of communication between departments, management, and employees, and not enough employee recognition or incentives. The biggest con is the emphasis on "productivity," which is a sales tactic to get employees to sell as many services as possible to clients so that the organization gets more grant money from the state.
