Extremely Disappointing

Pros

Concert Tickets, Gardens Membership, Pretty surroundings.

Cons

One of the most mismanaged non-profits I have ever worked for. This organization is fueled by petty politics and personal egos. HR and upper management sweep inter-office issues under the rug in order to protect the company. DBG outwardly posits as this great and inclusive company to work for, but heteronormative culture and capitalism are key to maintaining the power imbalances that keep entry level employees down. This is why their turnover is so high.

Pros

excellent entry-level job flexibility in setting-- ok to walk away from your desk to enjoy the gardens important denver cultural organization

Cons

poor pay scale- hourly workers live paycheck-to-paycheck no opportunities for growth- told repeatedly that "you're great at what you do" diminishing benefits- concert tickets, events for families of employees, etc. employee morale is pretty low and needs a boost financial mismanagement and too much focus on growth will bring the place down

Pros

- Lots of opportunity to work on many different kinds of projects - Lovely environment to work around - Most of the staff is very pleasant to work with

Cons

- You will be expected to perform duties well out of your job description for no additional compensation - No room for advancement & considerations for raises are non-existent - All decisions are revenue driven, if it doesn't make the Garden's money it often isn't considered - Lots of inter-department drama and tension - Draconian policies you are expected to enforce at the expense of our clientele, especially during 2020 where many of our clients cannot have the events they paid for, then told they cannot receive any of their money back for wanting to cancel.
