Pros

Collaborative, highly capable team producing high‑impact, award-winning work Strong mentorship that balances guidance, advocacy and opportunities to lead Increasing autonomy and trust over time, with room to grow and take ownership Supportive team environment with open communication and diverse perspectives Flexible work environment with strong benefits and wellness offerings Opportunity to contribute strategically and build confidence as a subject matter expert

Cons

Cross‑functional work can require time to build context and relationships, especially for newer team members Busy periods tied to major initiatives can create shifting priorities and added pressure Career pathways and advancement structures are not always clearly defined across the organization Expectations for progression (including experience, education, internal tenure) can feel unclear

Pros

• Talented, award-winning marketing team that's fun to work with • Work is highly visible and easily seen in action • Competitive pay for non-profit/higher ed space • Hybrid work flexibility • Good benefits: health insurance, retirement match, etc. • Fantastic Wellness Center with programs and health incentives • Students and most faculty are appreciative and easy to work with • A dedicated multicultural department works to ensure everyone feels welcome

Cons

• Like many institutions, cross-organizational politics can be a challenge to efficiency and creativity. • With over 10 programs, a large alumni base, and two clinic locations, a centralized marketing team has MANY priorities.
