Pros

The interview process was extremely smooth and encouraging for the next move in my career. Emphasis was placed on values, being mission driven, and valuing employees and growing their careers with Deserve.

Cons

Shortly after starting, C-level executives and department heads left the company. The executives were replaced in a matter of days. As part of the interview process and providing feedback, my opinions were questioned and the CEO attempted to manipulate and change my opinions. MY VOICE WAS NEVER HEARD. There is a blame culture. For a company that has been around long enough to have processes in place, there are none. When you attempt to implement a process to better the company and it falls through at the management level, the employee is blamed rather than solving the issue with process improvement or creating additional solutions. Management does not care to understand situations and are quick to tell you that you are incompetent. The company does not have any team building activities or transparency between management and the rest of the company. Being remote or "due to COVID" is no excuse for the poor communication that happens with small teams. There are no celebrations of milestones, promotions, or other employee accomplishments. When I gave notice of having another offer on the table, managers did not attempt to keep me at the company nor did HR reach out to ask for feedback. When I eventually had my exit interview, it felt rushed and that what I had to say was going in one ear and out the other. They clearly do not value their direct reports/employees. The CEO does not believe in work-life balance. HR has asked employees to write 5 star reviews to skew the ratings on Glassdoor. There is truth behind the negative reviews and others should take all reviews into consideration when applying for a role at Deserve.

Pros

There are no pros of working here. None whatsoever.

Cons

Politics, Incompetence, Blame games. People here talk about ownership but its all smoke and mirrors. Its autonomous dictatorship management here. You can trust no one here. Apart from a few good folks, rest everyone from top to bottom are worthless. There is no HR or I guess there is now since someone will acknowledge this. This organization doesn't care about its employees although it may seem on social media but reality is entirely opposite. I have worked at a decacorn before and here they will tell you they are on track to become a unicorn but none of that is true. It really is a shame that a so called startup is rotten to the core.

Pros

- Good compensation for the Bay Area.

Cons

- CEO is abusive. Singles people out to shame them in front of others. - Combative culture. - Employee happiness (or even operational efficiency ) are very low priorities.

Thank you. We truly appreciate this kind of feedback. Frankly, we are both sorry and appalled at these statements. While actions should always be taken in context before they are judged, there is no reason for any individual to feel this way. We understand clearly that Deserve is only as good as its people and continue to work to support our people and improve our culture.
