Pros

Even though i savagely rate Dillons as horrible place of employment, i must admit they are incredibly flexible as far as scheduling goes. With the exception of the occasional mix-up, Dillons is very good about granting time off and adequate vacation time to its' workers.

Cons

As the title of my review may suggest, Dillons has been a very negative experience in my employment thus far. Most jobs in customer service these days have become exceedingly difficult due to society's lack of respect for fellow humans, and Dillons has only worsened this. Incompetent lower level management has made morale constantly low, along with the the every present thought looming over your head, "Even if i do my absolute best, i will still only get paid as much as if i did my absolute worst". This combined with the very few employee benefits makes it harder and harder for baggers and checkers to force a smile and utter the phrase "have a great day" as they feel their mind slowly cracking. Promotions are very scarce and are usually given to less-than-qualified workers, making it harder for employees to trust and respect their superiors. The dreaded job of the bagger, is to retrieve carts from the parking lot. During the summer, this job becomes unbearable as the store gets busier and the bagger must spend more and more time outside retrieving stack after stack. Only to return inside the barely air-conditioned store and try as best the bagger can to keep a smile on his/her face and again utter the phrase "have a great day" as they stand dripping in sweat, soaked to the bone in the white dress shirt, black dress pants, and apron the dress code requires them to wear. As much as most of this may be considered "part of the job" there is a line separating cruel from reasonable that is frequently crossed here at Dillons.

Pros

Steady work for full timers, coworkers are good people, discounts on house brands and others/

Cons

POOR MANAGEMENT from store level all the way to corporate. No room for advancement. Constant nagging for more work to be done with less help and less hours. Low pay rates.
