Pros

- Transparent pay structure (even if it is grossly under market) - Immense responsibility at junior levels that would not occur at other companies/organizations in the space

Cons

- Management team promises transparency but there are several major inflection points at the company that have not been transparent to employees - Project managers are paid 30% below market rate - Opportunities for mentorship and growth are highly dependent on which office you are located at

Pros

- Very smart young people - Illusion of management - Very well thought out flexi work policies

Cons

- No strategy in place - High performing jerks are welcomed, team work is shunned - Terrible work culture - People are over worked and severely underpaid - Initially come across as fresh and very friendly, only to know that few individuals hog the power and not the friendly ones

Pros

Dimagi employees are, across the board, dedicated to the company's mission and super smart. They're by far Dimagi's best asset. Dimagi pivoted heavily during the Covid pandemic and the teams that are now focused on US Covid response projects are happy with their work and poised to do great things. Customers using Dimagi's software are truly doing impact-driven work.

Cons

Prior to Dimagi's pivot to Covid response, the company had restructured in 2019 and I personally saw huge hits to team morale across all divisions. Many great people left due to the immense focus on revenue generation during this period. While now stabilized a bit, multiple teams have been relegated to support functions for the company's Covid response unit. The US team lacks diversity in many ways, and the company—while providing lip service to DEI—has severely dragged their feet taking steps to diversify the team or increase inclusion efforts. Dimagi's software is stuck in the late 2000s and I saw very little sustained and/or coherent product development efforts during my time there. Dimagi's market moves slowly, so this hasn't caught up to them (yet) but when I left customers were beginning to complain as the market advanced around Dimagi. Lastly, Dimagi pays significantly below market rate for most positions. They're transparent about this, which I deeply appreciated, but it's important to know before going in.
