Pros

Working with dogs is great, coworkers were amazing, fairly inclusive workplace. Humanity before vanity grooming practices.

Cons

Lack of communication, owners/upper management don't believe or trust their employees. Broken/dirty equipment. Low pay for standard of living in SoCal.

Dirty Dogs Response

I'm sorry that you didn't think there was enough communication from upper management while you worked at Dirty Dogs. We hold monthly management meetings (often including assistant managers) and we send regular emails to our manager email group. We also have a What's app thread where we send regular communication. Our managers carry responsibility of ensuring many of these communications get disseminated across the teams. We will continue to work on more ways to communicate so everyone feels valued.

Pros

The nice customers. And the dogs.

Cons

Lots of cons. This company is one of the most unorganized and depressing places to work. They discard their employees like trash. Not to mention, the management is completely shady and they will not listen to employees. There is zero structure at any of the locations. They had a man working at one of the locations that was sexually assaulting women from that location and other locations as well. It took months to fire him, but they fire management for absolutely no reason. My list goes on and on and I’m not a bitter employee, I just wish they actually trained employees and cared about them as well. The turnover rate is astronomical. The owner and COO disregard any and all complaints that employees have. It takes months to get anything fixed in the store. They have been going down hill for months, the shelves are never full. Customers have asked employees at most locations if the stores are closing down because they can’t ever seem to get an order in. Grooming prices are extremely high, and when changes happen they leave it up to the underpaid employees to reach out to customers and get screamed at. They also have favorites when it comes to store managers. They try to get away with paying certain managers higher than others. The owners mom will come into stores and belittle you and go behind your back and talk about you. She and the other management don’t see you as human, we are all numbers to these people. Communication lacks. We are constantly having to purchase items out of our own wallet because they don’t allow ordering anymore. Then when you email them things you need, the email suddenly was “lost” in their mountain of emails. But you will always be to blame if you didn’t bother them enough.
