1.) DISCO pays lower than market rate for Field service engineers. They do this with the promise that they will pay a large bonus at the end of each fiscal year. Unfortunately, this bonus is calculated completely by upper management behind close doors. You cannot check their math. Further, because the bonus is calculated on the Fiscal year: You have to work a full fiscal year before you receive a full bonus, So you are basically being paid less for at least 1 full year. when my bonus did finally come, it was about 1/3 of what was promised and i had no recourse to change it.
2.) DISCO has endless rules and procedures which are almost impossible to know with out an experienced DISCO person to guide you thru. It's very hard to get straight answers about what is the "right way" To do things, and the punishments for doing things wrong can be severe.
3.) DISCO expects its employees to spend 30% of their time doing corporate team building exercises! Every week and every month. These often have nothing to do with your jobs responsibilities. yet They are considered equally important to any deadlines your job might have.
4.) DISCO expects people to work lots of overtime.
