Pros

It provides under-served children in the community through science, education

Cons

AVOID AT ALL COSTS ... the turnover is testament to the TOXIC culture. From VPs to floor staff, no one stays longer than a year. Leadership might be some of the worst I've ever seen. Most are untrained, unskilled and lacking any real direction, strategy or operational innovation. CEO has been there far too long and he just turns a blind eye to the product and people. Zero innovation, vision or organizational leadership. CEO too busy micro-managing EVERYONE. The CFO has had 12 employees in 2 years because she is an absolute bully and treats her team like garbage and now I hear oversees HR. You can't make this stuff up. Operations can't keep floor staff because the culture is soo bad. You have leaders that have been there for 15 years without ANY formal training of running a successful organization or training its people. Place is filthy, and exhibits are dirty and broken.

Pros

the kids and music and energy of the place

Cons

culture is HORRIBLE in the back house of museum. People work alone, no one supports each other, division between old employees and new. Place is just old and out of date. Company has controlled it into the ground. Offices our dirty and outdated. Employee kitchen and bathrooms are filthy. CEO runs everything. Nothing modern, fresh, new or digital

Pros

Employees receive a limited number of free tickets but the pay is so low that you are better off working someplace else where you get paid significantly more and just buy your own tickets

Cons

I can only speak for the accounting/finance department but turnover is extremely high. Both the CFO and Director play favorites. If you make a mistake, you are yelled at as if you’re a child. I would skip working here unless you are absolutely desperate to get some experience on your resume. Because an interview is as much an interview for you as it is for them, here are some questions to consider: How is turnover? Why is the current role open? How does management react if I make a mistake? I highly doubt they will be honest but their hesitation might signal to you that they are hiding something.
