Pros

Working with kids in a fun environment. Guest Service staff are nice people.

Cons

Low wages with no promise of raise (even with perfect track record) Terrible schedule -expect to work EVERY Sat/Sun for first 6 months of employment New employees average about 21 hours per week $50/ month for parking (same price for full and part time members) Strict uniform codes but inconsistently enforced Advancement opportunities occasionally become available but only in worst departments. You are not informed of wage until you are signing papers

Pros

In principle it is a great place to work because of the mission, location and facility.

Cons

There is no communication between the top level of managment to the middle management. There is no plan for where we are going and what we want to accomplish.

Pros

Very fun museum! All staff, regardless of FT/PT, receive employer match on a sponsored retirement plan. They prioritize internal promotions. New logo, new culture, new experiences. Consistently gauging and improving wage equity and competitiveness with similar jobs/museums. Inclusive hiring, onboarding, training, and promotions. Frontline staff is very diverse, and with internal promotions, more diversity at higher levels than ever before.

Cons

With all of the awesome leaders currently in place, turnover is low and advancement opportunities are very competitive.
