Pros

Nothing anymore. Turning into a smaller Wells Fargo.

Cons

Focus shifted from providing great customer service to just hitting the sales goals. Not compensated well. Around $10,000 lower than other banks. Technology was just upgraded but is still in the early 2000's. Online banking is horrible. I am ashamed to show our technology to our customers. Not a lot of room for advancement. If you ask about transferring to another department, it is decided that you are not engaged and you are told to decide if you really want to work there anymore. Company is trying to convert its classification to a mutual holding company so they can acquire other banks and grow bigger. Employees were told to lie to customers to tell them it's necessary so fees stay low and deposit rates go up. It's all a sham. Salary is below average for the industry. Everyone is given 2.5% raises and expected to be happy. In reality, this is just a cost of living adjustment. Managers have bonus capability, but it's not realistic for all branches unless you want to do unethical things. I feel like I lost the last few years of my life. I would not recommend.

A once great place to work has taken a huge fall from grace.

Pros

The people and the camaraderie and the events that are held consistently to keep those internal relationships going, health benefits, vacation policy.

Cons

Dreadfully low pay which is exponentially worse if you work your way up in the company. That’s not a typo. Employees who work their way are awarded thousands less than their peers brought in from the outside with similar or less experience. Management has adapted a new sales culture never before pushed at Dollar Bank. A once customer-driven bank is now nothing more than a cheap mini clone of Wells Fargo—foaming at the mouth for more numbers and cross-selling of ancillary products with ZERO reward for employees who excel, except for faster promotions for those who excel and pay no attention to ethics. Dollar Bank wants to be a player with the bigger banks and finance companies but refuses to pay their employees a proper wage for performing as such. No one works on commission, meaning you’re compensated no more regardless of production volume, but management still expects aggressive and unreasonable sales goals. I was once excited about the idea of spending my career there, but this once-respected regional employer stopped practicing what they preached.

Pros

They will not fire you. and I'm not expected to work from home

Cons

Pay is way too low. You'd make more money if you worked at Walmart. No lie, if you are a CSA, your pay is too low to qualify for their CRA programs. (This is a program for people who don't make a lot of money to buy their own home) Their idea of being technological advanced is a video teller. I still use Microsoft 2003 programs. The management is so old they just think that this internet thing is just a phase that'll pass. No need to invest in that kinda stuff. They refused to pay for updates to computer programs for 13 years and now to update it it'll cost the company $80 grand. They're to the point that they're so cheap that it actually costs them money. They brag about this culture of the bank, but everyone who isn't upper mgmt is unhappy. Do not work here
