Great Pay - Toxic culture

Pros

- pay is insanely good (for a reason) - great incentives - free lunch money when you are in office

Cons

Be very careful about joining. It may seem all shiney and amazing at the start but once you start to uncover it all you realize how toxic the culture is. And much of the toxicity came from SLT. I am talking about bullying, insane work hours, and complicated processes to make everything even harder. There is a reason why this company has such a HUGE turn over and people leave without another job lined up. The worst part - the USA side of the company truly lives to it’s values and is great - but they have no idea how things are really run in australia and the people they promote. Run.

Poor management and terrible work life balance

Pros

Good pay Exciting tech company High growth

Cons

- Poor management who are self seeking rather than people centric - Politics - Lack of recognition and internal career opportunities and transparencies around who gets promoted - Very poor work life balance due to fast paced, 1 person doing 3 people’s jobs and because you manage it the expectation is you keep doing it, rather than expanding head count - Very poorly structured and lack of process

Toxic culture, brutal workload, burnout, selfish managers

Pros

Lunch credits Private health insurance

Cons

If you value your mental health, do no work for this company. Management is self-serving and will sabotage your career growth to protect themselves. HR won't care either, and will sweep things under the rug. If you flag poor behaviour from management, you'll likely get pushed out to prevent escalations. Employee feedback is ignored - you'll be forced to complete workplace surveys as a tick box activity. You'll be expected to perform the workload of 1.5-2 employees, and your workload will continue to increase without a path to promotion (business is incredibly lean). You are at the mercy of the US business - lack of budget means it's impossible to achieve anything meaningful. Attrition rates are appallingly high (and probably reflective of how people feel about working here) - most new joiners don't stay for longer than 1-2 years. Constant churn leads to knowledge and experience gaps and therefore no stability within and between teams.
