The kids, and getting to learn and help the children there. A very rewarding job

Pay isn't great, a lot of people were not professional and the supervisors liked to pick their favorites.

One to one connections with consumers, ability to make a difference in the lives of special needs adults

Administration is completely disconnected with direct care staff. Administration does not appreciate medical professionals. Administration expects staff to function in unsafe situations and staff:patient ratios. Administration pays too much attention to appearance instead of performance and providing needs. The facilities mission statement doesn't reflect in their actions and decisions. The administration caters to clients and families that are wealthy or provide major cash and property donations.
