Pros
Plenty of hands-on experience throughout the entire deal process, with a lot of responsibilities. (client-facing opportunities, modeling, pitching, speaking directly with buyers/sellers, etc.) Opportunities, even as an Analyst, to take a lead role.
Cons
There isn't formal training, so you should be someone who is able to (a) learn quickly and on-the-go and (b) be resourceful (leverage Associates, forums, Google, etc.) ...the payoff is huge if you do it right
