They lie and pretend you're going somewhere when in reality you have no future. Don't waste your time.

Pros

- The atmosphere is very laid back. You have to get your work done and there are times when you're constantly busy like any other agency, but when things calm down? There's a pool table and video games to decompress with, and they're not touchy if you have hobbies you'd like to bring into the office. For example, I've brought in modeling kits (which can get messy) and there's been no blow back. We'll also go out to lunch together and have the occasional trip to Top Golf and other places, which is fun. - There's an emphasis on teamwork, and that extends to the two managers. I've never once been dumped with an insurmountable project and blamed if something went wrong. As a writer, my content will be QA'd by Jim (one of the managers) for a fresh set of eyes, and if I've misunderstood something technical about a client's product, he'll sit down and explain. I've never once seen him or anyone else on the team blow up at an employee. - You meet interesting people and learn a lot. I've never had to stray far from the writing side of things, but I have had to pick up new relevant skills like keyword research and some very light website editing (nothing scary). I've also met business owners in security equipment, pipeline services, and precision polymer production. It's a really eclectic group of clients. - We work home on Fridays. Nothing to really explain there, it's just nice.

Cons

- The office is located downtown which can be a pain in the a**. There's good and bad to it, but I try to get in early and leave early so I don't get jammed in rush hour. - The clients can sometimes be dull. There's a good mix of B2B companies we work with, though some of them are HEAVY on the technical side and require research to create content for. The office is fun, but if you're not okay with marketing for clients in fields like the medical, industrial, and polymer industries, it's going to drag on you. I've had more than one client meeting where I've had to pinch my arm under the table to stop myself from yawning. - Sometimes you need to hound coworkers for content. It's a small team and everyone's wearing more than one hat, so it's not a laziness thing, but it can be a pain when you need confirmation on a project so you can move on with it.
